Meet Poppy
My Dad passed away from leukemia over 10 years ago and so my children never had the opportunity to meet him. It's always been so important to me that as a family "Poppy" stayed a part of our conversations and our lives, and that my boys know who their Poppy is.
But explaining to a child that someone who loves them dearly and watches over them everyday can't be seen, heard or touched is an impossible concept for any child to grasp. This is what led me to writing 'Poppy in the Sky'. I wanted to find a way to talk about my Dad to my kids in a way they might be able to understand and help them to use their imaginations to make this story come to life, so that they too can look up at the sky and say "hi Poppy", anytime they see a rainbow.
This story is not just for my family, but for anyone who has lost a loved one and wants to keep their love and presence alive. I hope this book can become as special to other families as it is to mine.
Meet Pepper
Pepper is Poppy’s best friend in the sky. Together, they often stop for coffee and cake as they chat and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the clouds.
